TRS-80 MODEL I COMPUTER ITEMS FOR SALE:

(Model I - 26-1001, -1004, -1006)

(1977-1981)

The one that started it all and part of the "holy trinity" of original home and small business computers released in 1977 - the other two being the Apple ][ and the Commodore Pet 2001.  In working condition the Model I is still a fascinating computer to use and a real time warp to a time when crashes and reboots were just a normal part of computing.  NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED the TRS-80 Model I is infamous for doing nothing perfectly but everything ok.  Best appreciated by hobbyists, electronics enthusiasts, historians, purists, TRS-80 Model Is can be made into reliable machines if maintenance is not skimped.  On the plus side the Model I is easily the cheapest of the original 1977 trinity of computers, the Apple and C= now fetching thousands of dollars from collectors, a Model I system can be often set up for half that amount.

All my Model I systems are checked over, tested extensively and repaired as necessary.  They come with a 90 day warranty, just like Tandy used to offer, and friendly after-sales assistance should something go wrong after the 90 days is up.

"Due to the difficulty in sourcing 240V Model I items, most that I sell this year will be US 120V items which require step-down transformers.  Those cheap ones on eBay work fine.  If you are after 240V Model I equipment drop me a line, you may be in luck - you never know what I may have on hand." - Ian (2014).

The Return of 240V Model I Equipment:

"Good News for Australian buyers and other 240V countries!  I have a reasonable inventory of 240V Model I gear currently which includes 16K Level II keyboard units, Expansion Interfaces, and Video Display.  Disk drives still present something of a problem but the key components of the Model I system are now available from me in 240V so if you have been putting off setting up a Model I due to them being 120V mains, now is the time to get your system." - Ian (2017)

FOR SALE:

TRS-80 Model I Level I (Cat. No. 26-1001)

Level I systems are very hard to come by - their curious limited Basic language didn't lend itself to serious programming so most were upgraded to Level II.  These days the Level I systems are rare collectors items, I don't see them very often but when I do I refurbish them and sell them for $450 which includes 90 day warranty (just like Tandy used to offer).
